The name is derived from Roscommon, the city of Roscommon which is the Irish “Ros”, which means a gentle, wooded height, and ‘Comafin’ which is the name of the founder, the first bishop, and abbot of Roscommon. The County Roscommon Tartan is a traditional plaid pattern of red, forest green with bright yellow gold with blue and brown accents.
